Sanjeev Venkatasubramanian aka Sanjeev also known as Sanjiv, Sanjay or Selvam is a Tamil actor. He has worked in both the film and television industry as an actor. This forty-three years old man is not only an actor but also a very popular television host. He became popular for his role as Selvam in the Superhit Tamil drama serial "Thirumathi Selvam" which was broadcast on Sun TV. It was broadcast for almost six years from 2007 to 2013. That's why many people know him as Selvam. He has also made guest appearances in reality shows and done reality shows as a contestant.

Sanjeev was born on 28 September 1975 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. His father's name is Venkatasubramanian. His profession has not been updated or disclosed yet. Sanjeev's mother's name is Shamala. Famous South Indian actress Manjula Vijayakumar is his aunt. She has done more than a hundred films in South Indian films in the Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam languages. She is the sister of Sajeev's mother. Sanjeev had a sister whose name was Sindhu. Sindhu was also a film and television actress who died on January 6, 2005, due 

to a lung infection.

Sanjeev started his acting career in 1989. His first film was a Tamil language movie named "Ponmana Selvan". In the movie, he played the role of Hong Kong Annamalai (Nattamai)'s son. He has worked in thirteen Tamil movies. He started doing television serials in 2001.

His first television serial was "Nambikkal". He played the supporting role in the serial whose name was Sanjay. The show was broadcast from 2001 to 2003 on Sun TV.
